| Officials of Taiwan's Democratic Progressive Party continue to engage in rhetoric of Taiwan independence, such as the "Two-states Theory" and the "One Country on Each Side," which are all attempts to erase the One-China principle. These statements severely violate the One-China principle and the three joint communiqués between China and the US, undermining the political foundation of Sino-US relations, affecting the peaceful development of cross-strait relations, and are also detrimental to Taiwan's interests. China urges the US government to strictly abide by the One-China principle and the provisions of the three joint communiqués, and to handle the Taiwan issue with caution to avoid damaging Sino-US relations.
